We went from this ...
to this ....
We have been truly blessed by our God with a well born son ... Gawain Samuel Smit .... born 2nd October at 5.40am weighing 6lb10oz or 3009grams.
Wouter chose his first name, which means something along the lines of strong, and is also the name of one of the knights of the Round Table and I choose his second name which means gift of God - which he truly is.
We had a bit of a rough start with a whole week in hospital and Gawain having to spend a couple of days under lights ...
but we are home now hopefully to stay. We're still waiting on blood test results, but it is all in the Lord's hands and He will give us the strength to deal with whatever happens.Gawain is feeding well at the moment - weeing his way through five outfits today! I think it will take me a bit of time to get the hang of putting the nappy on right. Wouter is the bath person, which is cool as it lets me have some computer time to update the blog ... here's a photo of the first Daddy bath ...
Wouter also gets to give the expressed milk which is nice bonding time for him and nice timeout for me ... we're needing to top him up less and less but it is great to know that we can do this ...
This is Gawain in his car seat all ready to get home ...
he was wearing the jersey that I knitted for him!! Oh and finally one of Wouter's favorite photos so far ...

I'm sure you'll see lots more photos as the weeks go on. Thank you all for your emails, phonecalls and prayers.
Luv Anneke, Wouter and Gawain
