The past week

Gawain is now getting about very quickly despite not crawling. He rolled right to the recyling beside the rubbish tin and decided to help himself to Papa's empty Tui ... I couldn't resist a photo before removing the bottle and the recyling tin to the back room.

Today is wet and wild. We have had a power cut this morning for four hours, but it's back on now. Wouter's boss just got home this morning and rung us to say that the road is flooded, so we're not going anywhere in a hurry. It'll probably take at least 2-3 days to subside and clear up. There are lots of slips along the road as well, so I'm quite happy to stay at home, warm, dry and snug (as long as my power stays on :smile:) Wouter was a little bored this morning so started reading my Little Treasures mag ...

Yesterday was great fun, wouter was dagging sheep again, so I packed up a picnic lunch and we spent most of the day at the woolshed. He had both his morning and afternoon sleep in the buggy there and between times I put an old flannel sheet on the ground with some of his toys and he was happy as larry to play and 'talk' to us and watch Wouter and I work. Ok, Wouter was doing most of the working, I was just sweeping the dags off the board, but it was really nice.


Last Saturday we sold our first pup, so on the way home we visited mum and dad, taking a walk around there track. It was a a bit drizzly, so out came the storm cover and it fitted nicely over the spare buggy that Mum has, so that was all good.

Anyway, hope you're all well ... looking forward to hearing from you all in Holland once you're back from holidays ... the email inbox is feeling pretty lonely!!!

Woolshed fun

Hello everyone,
Gawain and I have been lucky the last few mornings, we've been able to walk down to the woolshed and help/watch Wouter dagging. Yesterday I swept up for them for an hour, but today I just took some photos and hung about. It makes a nice break in the morning after G's morning sleep and it's only a short walk. We got caught in the rain on the way back today, but I have learnt my lesson from last time, and with the wind we had the rain cover on anyway. I have a wonderful jacket that is totally windproof which I live in outside at the moment, and it is pretty waterproof as well.




I am thankful Gawain isn't crawling just yet, as he's be a total menace in the woolshed, he is rolling around, but didn't stray too far off his blanket. If he's sitting he does not generally roll over to get around. He is currently rolling around the bedroom while I do this, a little cranky because it's nearly lunch time, but i'm hopeing that we'll make it till when Wouter comes in for lunch. If not, oh well.

Ok ... back again, lunch time over, Wouter came home just as I was making Gawain's nutella sandwhich. I think Gawain must be feeling a bit better, he had a decent lunch. He usually has some sort of fruit/veg or yoghurt with a sandwhich. Today he was lucky and hubbled some of my omlette and leftover fried spud as well, he tried some kiwifruit but wasn't too keen.

Ok, i have a video of Wouter dagging as well, but the computer is taking FAR too long to process it, so maybe next time.

Belly Shot

Finally convinced Wouter to take a tummy shot for me, otherwise this poor bubba is going to have no pre-birth shots in his or her scrapbook ... other photo is Gawain emptying my washing basket (keeps him amused for ages) and Gawain with the puppy i've nicknamed Badger ... although i'm sure you're all over puppy shots by now :smile:

This is what happens if you're a rooster and you attack Wouter one too many times!! Also included is a photo of the chickens. i'm letting them go for the mornings now, they can run around the house peking grass and stuff, except they have discovered the cat food - never mind, they're really friendly.





Gawain is still enjoying playing with the pups. They are growing fast. We took them inside the other day as it was too cold to play on the deck.

Not much else is happening. A quite at home week for us this week. It has been wonderfully sunny yesterday and today, so Gawain and I have gone walking this morning to see Wouter drenching the cows. If he is down at the wool shed this afternoon we'll head down again. It's too nice not to take advantage of the sun! Looking forward to hearing from you all!!!!!! Hello

Well, this week Wouter has discovered Hyves, a Dutch site kinda like facebook, so that has been fun for him. Gawain has discovered that if he rolls around enough he can get to the computer or radio or any cords that he can pull really, so I'm starting to need to keep a bit more of an eye on him. He doesn't stay put in one place anymore

The puppies from Missy are now nearly four weeks old. While I cleaned their pen out Gawain got to play with them. He was quite fascinated by them ... if he pulled their tail they didn't really complain too much, unlike the cat who gives him a wide berth (unless he's asleep and then she curls up at the end of his bed.) There is one girl and five boy pups, and if the weather stays a little bit nice, I'm going to give them time with Gawain most days. Gives him seomthing different to do in his day.

On Monday we went down to the wool shed for morning tea to see Wouter and how they were getting along with the scanning. Our boss's wife and kids were also down there for morning tea, so that was a nice family time. They scanned the sheep just like a human ultra sound and it was really interesting to see the lambs on the screen, tinsy wee things ... come October they'll be alot bigger. Of course it was glorious sunshine when we left but the rain quickly came in so it was a run home and we both got a little wet but none the worse for the wear.

The rest of this week has been very quiet. Tomorrow we are both going to town as I have a scan to see how this bubba is going. I'm feeling lots of movement now, pretty much every time I lie down quietly. It is nice to know it's there and happy moving about. I'm looking forward to seeing him/her on the scan. We have a huge list of jobs to do, so hopefully it isn't too rainy, as then it is hard with getting Gawain in and out of the car seat.

Oh, here is a funny photo of Gawain and Wouter... given Wouter and I both have glasses, and wonky teeth we probably need to start saving for glasses and braces now already ... but since Gawain was grabbing his glasses Wouter let him try them on for a couple of second ... he looks very crosseyed.
