Daylight Savings

Well, daylight savings has started here for us ... we put all the clocks forward last night ... it will be nice once the fine weather stays with us, the start of the BBQ season I reckon.
Yesterday was a pretty good day weather wise. We sat outside on the deck for lunch which was a reminder it is starting to warm up ... still a bit of a chilly wind though.
In the morning Wouter put together the baby's buggy which arrived on Friday. Apparently it was easy and I could have done it, but I'd rather leave that sort of stuff to the expert :)
Last but not least - a photo of my (now dead) baby lamb b/c I think he was so cute ... unfortunatly we seem to try and save lambs that haven't had colostrum and they just don't make it, but guess I need to harden up being a farmers wife.

Hello everybody!!
Thanks Maria for ringing!! You're the best!!! So loved talking with you!

Unfortunately lambie in the photo's from the last post died ... twas just too little and not strong enough, not having colostrum from it's mum before she died didn't help either. BUT ... my wonderful husband got another little wee-wee fella, and let me tell you, he's very much alive and vocal. He slept in the kitchen in a big plastic box last night, but this morning got to join the other lambs in the outside pen. I must try and get a photo of all of them together.

Pups are growing like weeds, thought I'd share a couple of pictures with you ....



I'm doing well ... Wouter rung his Mum last night, and I think she was expecting him to tell her we'd had bubs ... nope, another 4 weeks still from today. I am finding that I really have to sit up straight or else i get lovely heartburn (which is horrible!!). We're still waiting on the buggy to arrive, but should be two weeks at the latest.

Not much else, the weather has been not that nice ... so not too much washing of baby stuff getting done. Karin and her wee ones came around on Tuesday and today Amber and her girls came to see the lambs and pups, so that was neat ... I'm not too bored yet :)

Puzzle finished

Wow - first day of leave has come and gone ... did get the one job I wanted out of the road, so I have a nice clean pantry now!! Yahoo!!

Wouter finished his puzzle on Saturday evening ... nearly had a small meltdown as ONE piece was missing, and we thought I might have vaccuumed it up - thankfully while moving a pile of clothes on Sunday morning, it appeared ... here are a couple of photos of the work in progress ... and then completed - ignore the fact Wouter is sitting on the dining room table



Also had another lambie turn up today, born too early, so we're not sure if it'll survive, but hey, we need to try our best ... feeding it every hour, about 1/8-1/4 of a cup of milk. Wouter is a big softie and I am so glad for that, it is nice to know he'll always try and save something than just give up on it! Wow ... all done

Crazy to imagine that I'm now on Maternity Leave. It was a good last week at school, finishing up those last minute bits and peices. The staff on Monday gave us these things

which I felt very spoilt. We have re-arranged our family room, so the photo-frame is now on the top of the book-case, awaiting bubs arrival so we can start putting photos into it.

The kids threw me a surprise baby shower on Thursday, which was a shared lunch with the whole college. They gave us a very cool activity play gym, a change-table mat and a cloth book. Will take photos later. The baby's room is starting to really fill up now that I've got my school stuff home, am going to have to re-arrange all the stuff under the bed to fit.

I'm really looking forward to getting a few of the jobs around the house done, although Wouter has told me mot to over do it. We're up to weekly midwife visits, so it won't be long now (ok, five-seven weeks still) before bubs makes an appearance.

The puppies are growing really fast, with their eyes open they are making a whole lot more noise. My lamb is doing great, took her and the dog for a walk just before. She listens better than the dog!

We have had some beautiful sunshine, and all the lambs behind our house have been enjoying it ... love seeing all the baby animals ... must go and feed my own baby lamb soon...


Oh... and I have the best husband in the world ... he got me flowers last week ... so pretty!!

Roundup

It has been a pretty quiet week for us here. The teacher who is taking over while I'm on maternity leave has been with me all week, and he is going to be absolutely awesome, so no worries there.

The lamb is as happy as larry, although does have some identity issues, thinking that the dog is her mother .... The puppies are growing nicely, shouldn't be too long before their eyes are open.

Wouter is busy with his puzzling, he really enjoys it and I pop the odd piece in here and there ... I haven't really got the patience for it.

It is starting to warm up, and before we know it, we'll be able to walk around in T-shirts and shorts, but we're still having the fire on low to keep the house nice and toasty warm overnight.

This coming week is my last week at work, exciting in one way, but bittersweet also ... so ... that's about all the news I think ... not much exciting happening .... I think Wouter emailed all the Dutch side of the family, so we're hoping to hear some news from that end or talk to some people over the telephone ... you never know ????

Wonderful Weekend

It has been a full on week - meaning one very tired me at the end, but hey, that's what is nice about the weekend, getting to sleep in a little.

First we had the pups born on Tuesday night ...


They are quiet noisy for little things. Sarah (the mama dog) is still getting the hang of being a mum, prefers running around outside to being with the pups sometimes, but she'll get there. We're keeping things nice and quiet for her for the first wee while.

Today we hung out with our wonderful friends Karin and Wayne and their beautiful kiddies. Wayne told us about an airshow in Masteterton they were taking Janae to, so we tagged along. Twas quiet fun.





The show was quiet noisy and when the huge heleicopter (and arioquois or something like that) started up the baby started kicking about. Amazing what they must be able to hear inside you already.

Wouter got to meed the midwife this week, which was quite cool. We're on the countdown to me finishing work (2 weeks!!) so it's all go really.

We have puppies!!

Arrived last night from 9pm onwards .... all doing ok so far ... will need to take it nice and quiet for at least a week or two ....

Super Duper Saturday

I have had the bestest day!! (good england there LOL) Wouter let me choose what i wanted to do, so first we went into town and he got a haircut, and I got my split ends chopped off ... hairdressers kept telling him I was having a girl b/c I'm all out front. He wasn't too impressed with that LOL ... them we drove to Pourirua (not sure of Wouter into PP and we choose the outfit for the baby to wear first when is born ... got a hat, bootees, all in one and snuggle wrap that all match and then a more girly all in one as well ... Wouter is so sure this bubs is a boy LOL ... we'll see. Goodness, I'm surprised he didn't faint at the bill b/c nothing was on sale.

We stopped at the top of the Rimitakas on the way home as the cafe was open (shock, horror) so we decided we had to try it. The hot chocolate was wonderful, and we managed to get a couple of photos of the view.




Called in at friends on way home b/c i needed a bathroom stop, they have a month old, so that was neat to cuddle, then home to let the dogs out. Took them for a run and workout (we were on the motorbike) as DH had to move some sheep.

Toasted cheese sammies for our dinner ... not to exciting, but hey, that was what Wouter wanted, so no arguing from me.

Must also share three other photos, the laid back attitude of our cat most days ... known as 'MeowMeow' she is either asleep in this position or on our bed.

The huge pink tree is on our driveway, we also have loads of camellia trees coming out, so far two pink, three red and two white. They seem to be all different varieties. Not quite sure what this type of tree is called.

The last photo is of our best friends little boy, Ethan, he is just on five months old and was trying out the bassinette for size.
