Our walk

We were blessed with an amazingly sunny day yesterday - before Wouter has to return to work we decided to go to the Wahine Gorge, which is just out of Greytown (about an hour and a bit's drive or so).  We swapped Melinda for Ethan and took the three boys 'into the forest'.  It is department of conservation land, and has marked walking trails.  We walked for just over 1/2 an hour into the bush with the boys before making a U-turn as it was getting a little too hard for them and it started with a (scary for me anyways) walk accross a swing bridge that spans the gorge.  The boys had loads of fun looking for the next orange marker - and it was great just seeing them enjoy the bush.  Despite all that is happening around us - we are so richly blessed here in New Zealand.   The views were absolutely stunning - and New Zealand native bush is beautiful.

Once we got back we walked from the carpark down to the rivers edge, and had a late picnic lunch there and the boys had a small paddle - although their highlight was seeing a small eel swim out form under a rock that Wouter moved to make them a dam.
