Hello everyone,
Well, finally the day arrived. Wouter had gone into town in the afternoon to do some farm jobs and when he came home he had our new toy ... a camera ... so I can now get back to updating the blog more regularly with pictures and stories of what we get up to.
First of all the weather of course. We have had a very dry April out here on the farm, we are actually praying for some rain to fill up the water tanks again. I have started to use my cloth nappies so that has upped the water use for a start, and we had been bathing the boys each night as part of the wind-down routine before bed. That has been put on hold for a little bit, so only baths if needed now (well, every second day anyway).
Farm stuff is ticking along, the rams are now out doing their thing so that should mean lots of little lambs come September. Wouter has been busy with stock moves, which on a nice day on the flat means Gawain gets to go along for a ride. He has been fixing flood gates, fencing and planting trees to he tells me. We have two new additions to our family, dog number 5 & 6. Meg is a two year heading bitch who looks nearly identical to Missy. Wouter is training her for his old boss Brian. Puppy is 10 weeks old and is a wee huntaway girl. Gawain is fascinated with her, can say Puppy down very clearly now when she gets a bit too excited. I caught them sharing his morning tea this morning ... not sure who was enjoying it more.
The boys are growing up far too fast :) Bryn is our wee chubbsta, coming up six months now he loves eating his solids, so different to Gawain who refused anything but the sweet stuff at that age. Bryn's favorite is pumpkin and pears (mixed). He has attached himself to a stuffed toy sheep that Opa Smit gave him while he was here and needs that nuzzled next to his cheek when he falls asleep.
Gawain is getting chattier, amazing us each day with his understanding. He still loves helping us - which at times can be frustrating if you just want to get the dishes done quickly. We have moved the playpen into the lounge now so he has a space there for his duplo and a few other toys, makes it more play centered for him. He is a wee acrobat, climbing on top of everything if you give him half the chance. His rocking horse is a current favorite to try stand up on the back of, so far at least he has still held on.
Next week sees the start of playgroup again and biblestudy on a Thursday which will be nice to get back into routine again.
Well, that is about it from us I think ... enjoy the photos!
