The weather wasn't looking flash, but it wasn't raining. The kids were still all snotty BUT we decided we'd be brave and just get out into the fresh air anyway. After a special breakfast of french toast and banana (thank-you spare fruit loaf in the freezer) we headed into town for the A&P Show. We went to this last year as well, when I was 36 weeks pregnant - a lot easier when one isn't pregnant to push a buggy around this time. Bryn was a tad grouchy to start with (he'd snoozed in the car and takes while to wake up) but soon he defrosted and both boys were fascinated with the baby goats and all the different chickens. Bryn wasn't too keen on the big cows for some reason though. Melinda cruised along in the buggy - relativly forgiving that her mother forgot the formula (different story on the drive home though). Dad joined us for the morning which was nice - the kids were excited to see him as well.
We grabbed lunch there (good old steak and onion sandwich) and the kids had some hot chips and bread as well. We headed to the side-shows but Gawain only got a turn at putting the balls in the clown's mouth. Everything else is a) far far to expensive and b) he's still too little to appreciate it. Oh ... we also got to watch part of an animal show with ponies and little toy dogs that balanced on their backs, although the foxy was having a seriously non-work day and kept jumping off.
While it isn't the cheapest outing - it was about the same as buying a block of cheese and couple of bottles of milk - it was a nice yearly thing. I think we might skip it for a couple of years to come though - just so it's still exciting once they're all a bit bigger again.
