Hello everyone ... it has been a long while since I have typed out a blog post. Thankfully this month our internet provider had a special on, so we have some 'extra' GB to spend ... so I am looking forward to updating a bit more this month.
Where to start? We're still at the end of the road here in Tinui. It is settling into winter well and truly. There are daily trips to the firewood shed that involve ten minutes of getting bundled up in rain pants and jackets and hats and boots. They involve rides in the wheelbarrow there and then helping Mama put all the wood in the wheelbarrow and then Mama trying to convince two eager boys that we can't stay in the paddock, we have to go back into the yard. The days seem to alternate at the moment between cold grey rain, and the beautiful Wairarapa days of a frost, icy cold but then beautiful sunshine. We try to make sure the boys get outside at much as possible (for all our sanity) so they're getting very good at the jacket/hat/pants/boots routine.
One of our favorite things to do to go down to the woolshed and 'help Papa' and have a picnic lunch or morning tea there. Often on a rainy day Wouter does jobs such as cleaning out the dags (poopy wool) and bundling things up. Other days we get to help him with drafting, or just watch as he's dagging. The boys are amazing in the woolshed. Melinda is quite content to just sit in the buggy and watch everything happen.
With the sunny weather this week we have also been having picnics outside for morning tea and lunch. The birdies and the pet sheep are enjoying having all the 'crusties' to eat.
Well ... what's been happening with the kids ...
Gawain - is a week into toilet training. It is going well so far, much better than I thought it would. He is talking nineteen to the dozen and is a proper little mimic. He knows that Papa's gun goes bang and makes things dead (but we only shoot animals eh Mama), and was quite fascinated with the duck Wouter bought home over duck shooting season. His favorite past-time is going with Papa on the bike, unfortunatly now that is is winter and muddy, it's often too dangerous, so he has to settle with waving to Papa from the deck.
Brynnie - is now running everywhere behind his big brother. He's got lots of words that we can understand, although sometime we still get a bit stuck. He loves being outside just as much as his big brother and will happily follow him (although thankfully can't scale the fences yet like Gawain can). He's a little more cautious than Gawain. Bryn is enjoying starting to do some 'big kid' activities such as coloring with Gawain and I. His favorite this would be his 'sheepie' who has been restuffed once already and i'm sure will be again before he retires.
Melinda - is 6 months old now and into her solids. I think she's going to be similar to gawain in that she loves her applesauce with anything. For the most part she is a pretty cruisy baby. She adores her big brothers and when Gawain is dancing for her she giggles her head off. She is sleeping great (well heaps better than the boys, so great for me), although so far her day naps are limited to 2x 45mins BUT her nights are with only one wake up, so i can deal with that.
anyway ... i will leave it at that for now, and hopefully sometime in the next wee while the computer will upload the images and I can post this!! OK ... well, i'm getting bad request updates from the blogger site, so i'll have to try again tomorrow morning with the photos.
